  • Jim Howe Blazes Deep into the 3.70s in No Prep Kings Legal Trim!

Hello everyone and welcome to another exciting update on Street Outlaws Talk! Today, we’re diving into an impressive performance by none other than Jim Howe, who has made headlines by going deep into the 3.70s with his No Prep Kings (NPK) legal trim car. Let’s get into the details! Photo by Dean Images Jim Howe’s Remarkable Performance In the world of NPK, drivers are notoriously secretive about their times. Most racers will share 60-foot or 330-foot times, and some might reveal their mile-per-hour speeds, but it’s rare to see anyone openly post a full time slip. Jim Howe, however, is breaking the mold. Not only is he one of the fastest in NPK, but he’s also transparent about his performance. Recently, Jim Howe was racing against a Pro Mod at Milan Dragway, and his results were nothing short of spectacular. During a test pass on Friday, straight off the trailer on a prep track, Howe clocked a 3.73 with a 7 at 203 mph in 2400 feet of air. While the air conditions weren’t perfect, he still managed an impressive speed and time. Built for No Prep, Thriving on Prep It’s important to note that Howe’s car is built specifically for no prep racing. The weight distribution, chassis setup, and overall build are optimized for the unique conditions of NPK tracks. Despite this, his car performed exceptionally well on a fully prepped track—a testament to the car’s versatility and Howe’s tuning prowess. Photo by Howe Motorsports  Consistent and Transparent Performance Jim Howe’s transparency doesn’t stop at his impressive times. He’s also open about his incremental times, something virtually unheard of in NPK. For example, during one of his passes, he hit a 0.919 to the 60-foot and 2.47 to the 330-foot mark. Although he aborted this pass after the 330-foot mark, calculations suggest that he was on track for a 3.69 run. On the second pass against the Pro Mod, Howe completed the race with a 3.71 at 202 mph, demonstrating near 60s performance under NPK legal conditions. These times are not only impressive but also showcase the car’s potential to consistently hit low 3.70s and even dip into the 3.60s. Pushing the Limits within NPK Rules What makes Howe’s performance even more remarkable is that he’s achieving these times under strict NPK rules. Without these restrictions, his car could utilize a higher overdrive percentage, potentially pushing speeds beyond 210 mph and significantly lowering his times. Even within the confines of NPK regulations, Howe’s ability to approach the 3.60s is a testament to his skill and the car’s engineering. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography    Conclusion Jim Howe is proving to be a formidable force in the NPK series. His willingness to share his performance details and his car’s impressive capabilities make him a standout in the no prep community. We’re eager to see how he continues to push the boundaries and set new benchmarks in the upcoming races. Stay tuned for more updates and insights from the world of Street Outlaws, and don’t forget to subscribe, comment, and join the discussion on Street Outlaws Talk. • Larry Larson Triumphs at First No Prep Race with New Procharged Chevy II

Hello everyone, and welcome to Street Outlaws Talk! Today, we’re excited to discuss a significant victory in the world of no prep racing. Larry Larson has secured his first no prep win with his newly unveiled Procharged Chevy II. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography  Larry Larson’s New Ride: The Procharged Chevy II Larry Larson, a name synonymous with speed and innovation, has added a new beast to his garage this year—a Procharged Chevy II, meticulously crafted for the No Prep Kings (NPK) series. This car is not just a visual homage to his legendary drag week Chevy II, but also a formidable machine on the track. Unlike his older, street-driven, all-steel 3700 lb car, this new Chevy II is much lighter and specifically built for no prep racing. The First Win: Friday Night Success Last night marked a milestone for Larson as he clinched his first win with the new Chevy II at the No Prep Wars event. The Friday night race saw him facing off against some of the fastest cars in the circuit, including the Junky Studebaker, Nate Saylor, and Cali Mills. Despite challenging track conditions, Larson’s skill and his car’s top-tier setup led him to victory. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography  Saturday’s Main Event: A Preview Today, the stakes are even higher with the main event of the No Prep Wars. Larson will once again go head-to-head with the same formidable competitors he faced yesterday. His car, boasting a Prine MH7 Hemi ProCharger 1401, the same powerhouse setup he used in his Cadillac, but in a significantly lighter chassis, is poised for another strong performance. Built for Speed and Consistency What makes Larson’s Chevy II a standout in the no prep scene is its consistency and adaptability. No prep races often involve less-than-ideal track conditions, and having a car that performs reliably under these circumstances is crucial. Larson’s car, with its lightweight build and cutting-edge components, has proven to be both fast and consistent—key factors for success in these unpredictable races. A Tribute to the Past, Racing into the Future This new Chevy II isn’t just about performance; it’s also a nod to Larson’s storied history in drag racing. It bears a striking resemblance to his old Chevy II, a car that dominated drag week for many years. However, the new version is strictly a no prep car, built for speed and agility, ensuring that Larson remains a top contender in the no prep racing scene. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography  Looking Ahead: The Road to No Prep Elite With this win, Larson has set a strong precedent for the rest of the no prep season. His goal of breaking into the top 16 for the No Prep Elite seems well within reach. Given his car’s performance and his racing prowess, fans and competitors alike should keep an eye on Larson in the upcoming events. • Monza Selling His Brand New No Prep Kings Chevelle

Hello, Street Outlaws fans! Today, we have some breaking news from the No Prep Kings world. Monza, one of the most iconic figures in Street Outlaws, has officially put his brand new No Prep Kings Chevelle up for sale. Don't forget to subscribe and comment for more updates on all things Street Outlaws and No Prep Kings racing! Photo by Team Monza 405  Monza's Chevelle, built by the renowned Cameron Johnson, was originally constructed for Season 6 of No Prep Kings. However, Monza decided not to participate in the season and has shown little interest in competing in No Prep Kings or No Prep Elite events. After much deliberation, he has decided to sell the car. Although we haven't seen the Chevelle make any passes yet, it promises to be a beast on the track. The car features a ProLine Hemi, specifically a 564 cubic inch Hemi with MH7 heads. This setup represents the latest and greatest in racing technology from ProLine, and Cameron Johnson Race Cars (CJRC) is known for building top-tier cars. Their creations, like Prenup, have been highly successful in No Prep Kings. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography  Whoever buys Monza's Chevelle will be getting an incredible machine. The car is equipped with a ProCharger 1401, a winning combination seen in cars driven by top racers like Ryan Martin, Murder Nova, and Robin Roberts. This car has the potential to win No Prep Kings events with some testing and fine-tuning. Monza's decision to sell the Chevelle signals his disinterest in NPK at the moment, but fans are hopeful that he will return to racing soon. Many would love to see the iconic black Camaro make a comeback. That car holds a special place in Street Outlaws history and has been a fan favorite for years. Although it wasn't competitive in NPK due to its build, it was a dominant force on the street, reaching the number one spot several times. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography  For now, anyone interested in purchasing Monza's Chevelle can contact him through his private page. This car is bound to be a hot item and will likely be seen racing soon. We are excited to see where it ends up and how it performs on the track. • Kye Kelley Possibly Selling Jangalang: A New Era for the No Prep Kings Champion

Hello, Street Outlaws fans! Today, we have some exciting news from the world of No Prep Kings racing. The legendary Kye Kelley might be selling his championship-winning car, Jangalang. Stay tuned and don't forget to subscribe and comment for more updates on all things Street Outlaws and No Prep Kings racing! Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography  Kye Kelley recently unveiled his new third-generation Camaro, which marks his sixth NPK car build. This new Camaro is a significant upgrade over his previous cars, including the last NPK Shocker with the nitrous motor. The new car looks absolutely stunning and sinister, featuring a screw-blown Hemi and being much lighter than Jangalang. Jangalang, despite its success, is considerably heavier compared to the new Camaro. The new car's shorter wheelbase and dynamic build make it a promising competitor for the upcoming races. Kye's new Camaro is expected to be much faster, providing him with a competitive edge he has been seeking. Jangalang has already proven its worth by winning the No Prep Kings Season 6 Individual Championship, a remarkable achievement despite the challenges and critics. However, the car's weight has been a limiting factor under the current NPK rules for a screw blower setup. Kye has to add a lot of weight to make it run right, which sometimes results in the car being overweight and losing ET (elapsed time). Photo by Isky Cams  The new Camaro, being lighter and more advanced, is expected to give Kye Kelley the upper hand he needs to compete with top racers like Ryan Martin and Murder Nova. The new car's weight advantage will allow Kye to optimize performance and potentially dominate the tracks. If Kye does decide to sell Jangalang, it is certain that it will attract buyers. The car is incredibly fast, well-built, and equipped with a 49 N engine combination, known for its excellent performance with a screw-blown setup. Additionally, Jangalang can run on both small and big tires, making it a versatile and valuable car for any racer. Kye Kelley has a long history with third-generation Camaros, dating back to his first appearance on the show in 2013. This new Camaro represents not only a technological upgrade but also a continuation of Kye's brand and legacy in the racing world. Photo by Kye Kelley Racing  As we wait to see if Kye will indeed sell Jangalang, one thing is certain – the new Camaro is set to bring more thrilling races and possibly more championships for Kye Kelley. Stay tuned for more updates and let's see what the future holds for Jangalang and Kye's new Camaro! • Chuck Seitsinger Wins Mike Murillo Benefit Race in the 2nd Amendment Mustang

Hello everyone! Welcome to Street Outlaws Talks, your go-to source for all things related to Street Outlaws. Today, we're excited to bring you the latest news about Chuck Seitsinger’s remarkable win at the Mike Murillo Benefit Race. Photo by 405 This past weekend, Chuck Seitsinger emerged victorious in Mike Murillo's no prep event, driving the 2nd Amendment Mustang and taking home a $10,000 prize. Despite the hustle and bustle of travel, the buzz around this event has been immense. For those who might not know, Chuck has been seen at several No Prep Kings (NPK) events this year, typically racing the Death Trap Mustang. Unfortunately, that car hasn't been quite fast enough to clinch a win in the highly competitive NPK series. However, Chuck's skill and determination were on full display as he navigated the 2nd Amendment Mustang to victory at this recent no prep event. It's also worth noting the absence of Mike Murillo from the racing scene lately. Mike has been bravely battling cancer, and we are all rooting for his swift recovery. A legend in drag racing, Mike boasts 16 championships, including a No Prep Kings Season 2 title. His absence is felt deeply in the community, and we all hope to see him back on the track soon. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography  The no prep racing scene, particularly at the elite level, has become fiercely competitive and costly. To stay competitive, racers need to consistently run 370s, which demands significant financial investment in car maintenance, engine tuning, and extensive travel for events. This high barrier to entry makes Chuck's recent victory even more impressive. While it's uncertain if we'll see Chuck or Mike back in the NPK series in the near future, their contributions to the sport are undeniable. Both have been integral to the early success of No Prep Kings, having been involved since the inaugural season. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography  As we all send our best wishes to Mike Murillo for a speedy recovery, let's keep an eye out for Chuck Seitsinger at upcoming events. • New Screw Blower Weight Break on No Prep Kings & Reduced Overdrive

Hello everyone! Welcome back to Street Outlaws Talks, your ultimate destination for all the latest updates on the Street Outlaws scene. Today, we’re diving into some exciting changes in the No Prep Kings (NPK) series regarding screw blower weight breaks and overdrive reductions. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography Recently, Kye Kelly shared some intriguing details in his latest YouTube video about a new weight break for screw-blown combinations in NPK. According to Kye, if you run your screw blower setup at 82% overdrive, you get to shed 90 pounds off your car's weight. This is a significant change that could shake up the competition. In the middle of the season, there was another weight break introduced. If you run at 92% overdrive, you can take 40 pounds off. Alternatively, you can stick to the 98% overdrive at the base weight, which has been the standard. The base weight for these setups is 2825 pounds. Most racers don't run lockups, which deducts an additional 50 pounds, bringing it down to 2775 pounds. With the reduced overdrive at 82%, the weight goes down to approximately 2685 pounds. Additionally, if you have a pre-1979 built car, you can drop another 25 pounds, hitting a remarkably low 2660 pounds. Not many cars can reach that weight, especially with a screw-blown setup. But 2660 pounds is impressively light for an NPK car with a screw blower. The difference between running at 98% and 82% overdrive can be quite significant, potentially reducing boost by 3 to 4 pounds. For a screw-blown setup, this reduction translates to a substantial drop in power—likely around 200 to 300 horsepower. However, the 90-pound weight reduction could offset this power loss, making the cars highly competitive. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography We’ve seen how weight reduction impacts performance firsthand. Last season, a 100-pound reduction significantly improved the performance of procharger combinations, even though the 136 procharger doesn’t make as much power as the 140 S1. This new weight break could have a similar impact on screw-blown setups. Even with a significant reduction in overdrive, screw blowers still generate impressive power. Back in 2022, NHRA allowed screw blowers to run at 75% overdrive in Pro Mod, and Stevie Fast went 5.70 at 257 mph in the quarter mile and 3.77 at 211 mph in the eighth mile. That was with a restricted NHRA setup, not an unlimited Outlaw engine combo like in NPK. An outlaw combo at 82% overdrive will undoubtedly make even more power. Kye Kelly's new car, purpose-built for this type of racing, could be light enough to benefit significantly from this new rule. If he can get down to the target weight of 2685 pounds, we could see some incredibly fast runs, even with the reduced overdrive. Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography Stay tuned to Street Outlaw Stalks for more updates on how these changes impact the NPK series and which racers can take full advantage of the new rules. Don't forget to subscribe, comment, and stay connected with us for all the latest news and insights!

  • Exploring New Weight Breaks and Power Dynamics in Street Outlaw Racing!

Recently, the Street Outlaws community has been abuzz with discussions sparked by Kye Kelley's latest YouTube video. In this video, he dives into the intricacies of testing his new car, shedding light on potential game-changing developments in the realm of screw blown combinations on No Prep Kings. Photo by Radical Speed One of the key revelations from Kye Kelley's update is the introduction of new weight breaks for screw blown setups on NPK. According to his findings, competitors running their screw blown setups at 82% overdrive can now shave off a substantial 90 lbs from their base weight. This reduction alone marks a significant advantage in a sport where every pound counts towards performance. Moreover, another weight break was quietly implemented midway through the season. This adjustment allows those opting for a higher 92% overdrive to trim 40 lbs from their base weight. However, for racers choosing to stick with the standard 98% overdrive, the base weight of 2825 lbs remains unchanged from the previous year. Photo by Isky Racing Cams For racers not utilizing lockups, an additional 50 lbs can be shed, bringing the weight down to 2775 lbs. Further reductions are possible for those running reduced overdrive settings. At 82% overdrive, racers can weigh in at approximately 2685 lbs, and those with pre-1979 built cars can drop an extra 25 lbs to reach 2660 lbs, albeit such lightweight configurations are rare, especially for screw blown cars. The debate surrounding these weight breaks extends beyond mere numbers. Switching from 98% to 82% overdrive potentially sacrifices 3 to 4 lbs of boost, which translates to a considerable power reduction in the realm of screw blown setups. Nevertheless, history shows that even at lower overdrive settings, such as the 75% used in NH Pro Mod back in 2022, screw blowers can still deliver impressive performance. For instance, Stevie Fast achieved a remarkable 570 at 257 mph in the quarter-mile with a limited screw blown setup, proving that these engines retain their potency across varying overdrive levels. Photo by Isky Racing Cams The implications of these developments are profound. Kye Kelley's new build, coupled with the possibility of exploiting the new weight breaks, could usher in a new era of dominance in street outlaw racing. His meticulously crafted car, optimized for speed and agility, holds the potential to redefine what is achievable at reduced overdrive levels. As the season progresses, all eyes will be on how racers adapt to these changes. Will more competitors follow in Kye Kelley's footsteps and explore the advantages of lighter weights at lower overdrive settings? Only time and the race track will reveal the true impact of these weight breaks on the competitive landscape of street outlaw racing. Stay tuned to StreetOutlawsTalk.com for more updates and insights into the evolving strategies and technologies shaping the future of street outlaw racing.

Adding to the excitement is Kallee Mills, fresh off a significant win at the No Prep Wars All Stars event where she took home a hefty $20,000 prize. Photo by Kallee Mills Racing Notably, Brandon James will also be making a return to the NPK scene with his stunning Camaro powered by a screw blown Hemi. • Justin Swanstrom Wins N/T 275 Race in Darlington!

Hello, Street Outlaws fans! Welcome back to Street Outlaws Talk, your go-to source for the latest updates on the Street Outlaws series, Hope Kings right, and all the other adrenaline-pumping shows. Today, we're thrilled to report on Justin Swanstrom's recent victory in the No Time 275 class at Darlington! Photo by Mallory Elizabeth Photography As many of you know, Justin Swanstrom is a seasoned racer who has competed in various classes with different cars, always delivering impressive performances. This time, he brought out his previous NPK car, now fitted with 275s, and clinched the win in Darlington. This isn't the first time this car has run on radials, but it certainly showcased its prowess once again. Even though the car is purpose-built for NPK, it runs exceptionally well on small tires, demonstrating the versatility and capability of Justin's setup. Although we don't have the specifics on the updates made to the car, we can confidently say it's faster and more formidable than ever. Justin has promised a video explaining the exact modifications, so keep an eye out for that! During the race, the car delivered several blisteringly fast passes. When Justin first put the car up for sale earlier this year, he mentioned it could run 360s in radial trim – a testament to its speed. In the No Time 275 class, racers can choose their overdrive on the screw blower, whether it's 125 over, 128 over, or even 92 over. Justin's car, with its impressive setup, has proven itself a winner time and again, whether on NPK tracks or in small tire trim. Photo by Dragzine Currently, Justin is also updating his 69 Camaro, Bad Blood. Although this car is incredibly fast, it hasn't shown the same consistency as his previous car, PRUP, especially on big tires. But rest assured, the team is working hard to dial it in. Despite the challenges, Bad Blood has already secured an NPK event win this year, and we expect it to become even more consistent and faster as the season progresses. Justin is still in the top 15 points in the No Prep King season, with four more races before the Elite 16 main event races. We anticipate he will continue to improve and bring even more excitement to the competition. Meanwhile, PRUP remains a formidable contender, having been a consistent winner since 2021 across radials, big tires, or any trim. Looking ahead, Justin is also working on a new 1967 Mustang for NPK. With his track record, we can only imagine how incredible this new build will be. Stay tuned for more updates on Justin Swanstrom's racing adventures and all the latest from the world of Street Outlaws!
