  • Justin Swanstrom Wins 2022 NPK Tulsa With NO Points Awarded

2022 NPK Tulsa found Justin Swanstrom winning over Lizzy Musi in the final round on Saturday. This is the first time a screw blown powered car wins the Invitational at NPK race. Photo by Justin Swanstrom Facebook He remains in fourth place because there will be no points awarded for this win. It’s believed that the reason for this no points is due to the recent death of show’s producer Mike Helmann. He passed away right before the show restarts after much-needed seven-week hiatus. Several Street Outlaws stars have made tribute to Helmann, including Ryan Martin, Kye Kelley, Justin Swanstrom and so on. Before the series took a break in July, Justin Swanstrom was tied with Jerry Bird at 210 points. Lizzy Musi is in third place with 230 points, while her fiancé ranks at top 2 with 320 points. Photos by No Prep Instagram Swanstrom and his team have done a lot of testing on his new screw blown combination in order to attack the season full force since the crash at Maple Grove Raceway in Mohanton, Pennsylvania and intake manifold at the New England Dragway in Epping, New Hampshire. This was Swanstrom’s first final win in NPK 2022 after beating Chuck Seitsinger in Round 1, Kye Kelley in Round 2, Larry Larson in Round 3 and Daddy Dave in semi-finals. Hopefully he will be winning again this year. In the lane next to the Swangang’s Lexus is the New Jersey girl who managed to beat Shawn Wilhoit, the guy that took Ryan Martin out of the picture for this event, so we know that she is trying everything she can in order to deny Swanstrom his first win of the season. Lizzy Musi also has some amazing wins to advance to the final. She defeated Adam Jennings in Round 1, then Birdman in Round 2 and Doc in Round 3. Street Outlaws No Prep Kings will now be off until August 26th and 27th, when the series regroups at Firebird Raceway in Idaho. • Ryan Martin Win Over Daddy Dave In The Great 8 Final

Over the years, we have heard that the success of Ryan Martin is based on his hard work more than anything. This has been repeated numerous times when it comes to testing, and for many, it was the work that he has done in testing that has put him on the top of his game and at the top of the No Prep Kings Championship, last season. As you know, Ryan was truly busy building the small tire car for the 405 races, while at the same time building the small tire car for the Street Outlaws Endgame, so he and his buddy Javy might not have enough time to improve the Gray Fireball Camaro, for the upcoming races. However, beating Jeff Lutz and Lizzy Musi, Ryan tells us that he and that gray car are still pretty fast and advance to final to face Daddy Dave. He sealed the top rank with a win over his fellow 405 competitor at Tulsa Raceway Park. Photos by Fireball Camaro Facebook After winning the Great 8, Ryan once again put everybody on notice that the gray Camaro and Javy are the team to beat and they are once again the fastest car on the property. Overall, Ryan Martin has managed to grab three wins and 80 points so far this year in the Great 8 series and is right behind him in second place by none other than the guy staging in the lane next to him in the final - Daddy Dave, who has 40 points and two event wins. Dave, got to the finals after winning his races against Jerry Bird and Justin Swanstrom in the semi-finals. The fact that he is in the final racing against Ryan tells us all now it is time for him to shine and stop Ryan in his tracks and tell everybody that he is here to get to the top. However, all these things are easier said than done because that gray Camaro is not going to roll over for anybody, so check out the video and see. Video by Upshift360

  • Ryan Fellows Death during Filming of Fastest in America

Ryan Fellows, a street racer and cast member of the Discovery series “Street Outlaws: Fastest in America,” has died in a car accident. Photo by TMZ The crash happened just outside Las Vegas early Sunday morning. Ryan was racing another driver in what was the 8th out of 9 races scheduled for the night for the show. Every single one of Street Outlaws episodes comes with a valid warning: “Just because we're dumbasses, don't mean you can be too. So don't do any of the sh*t that we do at home.” This is a reminder that no matter how skillful you are with cars, if you’re pushing the envelope while behind the wheel, accidents become far more likely. Using the proper safety equipment, getting proper training, and racing on a closed course help minimize risk and hopefully lead to a better outcome, but there’s no way to be completely safe. This time, it’s sadly happened with Ryan Fellows. Photo by Ryan Fellows Instagram According to reporting from TMZ, Fellows was driving a gold Nissan 240z, and somehow lost control near the finish line, Ryan's vehicle rolled and caught fire. People reportedly tried to get him out from the car on time. According to a spokesperson for Discovery: “The Street Outlaws family is heartbroken by the accident that led to the tragic death of Ryan Fellows. We extend our deepest sympathy to Ryan's loved ones as they process this sudden and devastating loss.” Ryan was the guy that raced Brian Britt in the green Lamborghini Huracan on the most recent season of Memphis. Ryan leaves behind his wife, Liz, and his two kids, Josiah and Olivia. Many fans of Street Outlaws have expressed condolences to Ryan’s family: “I didn't know him or know he was associated with the show but that doesn't matter. That's so sad man. Praying for his family.” “My heart and prayers go out to Ryan and his family …..” “Hate to see that. My thoughts and prayers go out to Ryan's family.” A Go-Fund Me created for his family reads: “Ryan was an avid car enthusiast and was a road “warrior” in many ways that extended to loves of basketball, cars and business in sales/advertising. He was admired for tenacity and a relentless drive to overcome the challenges before him.” Photo by Go-Fund Me Fellows’ death comes several months after two other racers on the show – husband and wife Jonathan “JJ Da Boss” and Tricia Day – were left with serious injuries following a crash. Some people have shared their thoughts about filming this season in Vegas. It’s believed that there's a bunch of new rules and lots of stuff partially enforced this road was easily one of the most dangerous roads. These racers know the chances that they take and what’s at risk every time they get into one of these cars, but driving by the passion they are willing to risk it all for the love they have for speed. Racers all over America will remember him as a fine professional who came to win on race day.
