What Is Mike Murillo Doing After Being Diagnosed Stage 4 Lung Cancer

The year 2023 is indeed a tough year for Street Outlaws star Mike Murillo as he had double knee replacement surgery in the early of February, then announced about stage 4 lung cancer diagnosis in March. The diagnosis came as a shock to many fans of the show, where Mike was one of the most popular racers. The news immediately raised questions about what he would do next, both in regards to his health and his status on the show.

As a result of the diagnosis, Mike has had to undergo some treatments. These treatments can be draining, and it is likely that Mike has had to take time off work to allow himself the necessary rest and recovery time.


Despite the challenges, Mike has been maintaining a positive attitude and keeping fans updated on his progress through social media. He has been posting regular updates with his followers, sharing photos of himself and his family, and keeping everyone up-to-date on how he is feeling.

In one post, Mike wrote: “We have the best fans, friends and family on the planet. Thank y’all for all the prayers and messages sent. Let’s go Racing!”. In some recent posts, he kept us updated about his treatment: “All masses are still shrinking. Lymph node masses are almost gone. The bone that was hurt by the cancer on my spine is already showing it’s healing. Brain scan showed clear again so no more brain scans. Cancer Markers in my blood are “undetectable”!

It's worth noting that some fans have expressed support and love for Mike, with many rooting for his speedy recovery. While Mike's health is undoubtedly his top priority right now, he still keeps much love for racing. Mike Murillo has been keeping fans updated on his new Hemi combo for the upcoming season 6 of Street Outlaws No Prep Kings. He will be coming out with a S550 Mustang GT500, which is also known as "DethRow". He was the only racer running a big block Ford for a while and now he is switching over to a Hemi by Brad Anderson. This change is a reliable combination at high power level that can handle the high horsepower better.

In a recent post on social media, he shared some photos that showcased the high-performance engine, which he believes will give him an edge in the competition. Mike has promised to keep fans updated on the progress of his car and engine combo throughout the season, and his followers can't wait to see how he fares.
