The 2015 Amarillo Crash

In August 2015, during a no-prep race at the Amarillo Dragway in Texas, Daddy Dave experienced a life-threatening accident. Shortly after the race commenced, he lost control of his nitrous-fed Chevy II, known as "Goliath," causing the vehicle to slam into a concrete barrier and roll six times. Spectators feared the worst as the dramatic scene unfolded. Remarkably, Dave survived but sustained a serious concussion, a bruised lung, and multiple bruises. His wife, Cassi, provided updates on his condition, expressing gratitude for his survival and emphasizing the need for recovery time. ​\

Rebuilding and Returning to Racing

Undeterred by the accident, Daddy Dave embarked on rebuilding his racing career. He introduced "Goliath 2.0," a revamped version of his 1963 Chevy Nova, demonstrating his determination to return to the top ranks of street racing. His comeback was met with enthusiasm from fans and peers alike, who admired his resilience.​

The 2021 South Georgia Incident

In July 2021, at the South Georgia Motorsports Park, Dave faced another setback. While competing in a "No Prep Kings" event, he lost control of Goliath 2.0 after crossing the finish line, resulting in a collision with the guard rail. Fortunately, he emerged unscathed, attributing the mishap to a lapse in concentration and a delay in deploying the parachutes. Dave took full responsibility, acknowledging the need for heightened focus during races.

A New Chapter with the Audi S5

Continuing to evolve, Daddy Dave unveiled a new Audi S5 at the 2022 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. This strategic move showcased his adaptability and commitment to staying competitive in the racing scene. The Audi S5 quickly proved its mettle, contributing to Dave's victories in the "No Prep Kings" circuit. In 2023, he secured a sponsorship with Stage 8, a renowned manufacturer of locking fasteners, further bolstering his racing endeavors.
