The news of their diagnoses has sent shockwaves through the racing community and has left fans heartbroken. Murillo and Musi are both fan favorites and have become synonymous with the high-speed world of street racing.

Mike announced on his YouTube channel in March 2023 that he had received a diagnosis of stage four lung cancer. Prior to this, he had experienced COVID-19 symptoms in January 2021 but continued to race despite feeling unwell. One day, he coughed up “a lot of blood”, leading him to visit the emergency room where he was informed of an enlarged heart. A subsequent scan revealed a mass on his lung, lymph nodes, and spine, ultimately resulting in his stage four cancer diagnosis in August 2022.

When he shared the news with his fellow racers on the set of the show, the atmosphere was tense and solemn. However, Mike remains optimistic, stating in his YouTube video that his health is improving, and he is motivated to change his lifestyle. In an update provided on April 20, he indicated that his health is progressing as planned and that he has lost 60lbs from his original weight of 321lbs during his cancer treatment.

Following Mike Murillo's cancer diagnosis, Lizzy Musi was also diagnosed with stage four breast cancer. Lizzy shared her cancer journey with her followers in a YouTube video posted on April 21, 2023. According to Lizzy, the first indication of cancer that she detected was a “marble-sized lump” in her breast. She mentioned that she had undergone breast augmentation surgery approximately two years ago, followed by a "revision" surgery later on. About six months after her second surgery, she noticed the lump. Initially, she did not think much of it, assuming it might be scar tissue.

Upon discovering the lump in her breast, Lizzy and Kye had to travel to Australia for five weeks. When they returned, Lizzy noticed that the lump had grown from the size of a marble to almost 3 cm and had become tender. She consulted her doctor again, and after undergoing tests and a biopsy, she received confirmation of her cancer diagnosis. According to Lizzy, the cancer is an aggressive form. The cancer has spread to her lymph nodes and liver, and she is set to begin chemotherapy treatment soon.

The racing community has rallied around Murillo and Musi, offering their support and encouragement during this difficult time. Fans have taken to social media to express their love and admiration for the two stars, with many sharing stories of how they have inspired them over the years.

As Murillo and Musi continue their fight against cancer, we stand with them and their families, sending them all of our love and support. Their bravery and determination are an inspiration to us all, and we know that they will come out of this stronger than ever before.
