Street Outlaws No Prep Elite Championship: Who’s Still in the Running After Rockingham?

Hey everyone, welcome to Street Outlaws Talks—your ultimate source for all things Street Outlaws. Today, we’re diving into the latest updates on the No Prep Elite Championship standings after the second race in Rockingham. The season is heating up, and we’re here to break down who’s still in the running for the championship and what to expect in the upcoming races.

After Rockingham, the championship standings show some racers pulling ahead, but nothing is set in stone yet. Here’s how the points stand after two events:

The Race So Far

After two events, Clay Cole has emerged as the leader, with Shawn Ellington and Scott Taylor tied for second place alongside Robin Roberts. Clay has been consistent and fast, but with 140 points still available, the championship is far from over.

Racers like Ryan Martin and Giuseppe Gentile are also staying competitive and have a good chance to shake things up in the next few events. For others, like Kye Kelly, Justin Swanstrom, and Jim Howe, the road to the championship will be more challenging—but not impossible. They’ll need some major wins in the upcoming races to keep their championship hopes alive.

Who Has the Best Shot?

While it’s still mathematically possible for racers outside the top five to win, they’ll have to put on some of the best performances of their careers to catch up. Clay Cole’s lead is significant, but he’s not untouchable. If Shawn Ellington, Scott Taylor, or Ryan Martin can take him out early in one of the upcoming races, they could quickly close the gap.

However, for drivers like Justin Swanstrom, Nate Sayler, and Jim Howe, they’ll need to win outright at the next few events and hope that Clay, Shawn, or Scott falter along the way.

Fast Tracks Ahead

Looking ahead, Steele, Alabama, and Texas Motorplex are up next. Both are known for being some of the fastest tracks on the No Prep circuit. Steele, in particular, is famous for its great air and consistently quick times, which could favor drivers with solid tune-ups and fast setups. Texas Motorplex is another track where we could see big performances.

Rockingham was fast, but these next two events will be critical. Expect drivers like Nate Sayler, who already pulled off an upset by beating Shawn Ellington in the first round at Rockingham, to be a serious threat. Kayla Morton, one of the fastest racers on the list, could also make a move if she can find more consistency.

Key Matchups to Watch

The first round of the next event is already shaping up to be one for the books, with several high-stakes matchups set to go down:

  • Shawn Ellington vs. Jeff Lutz

  • Scott Taylor vs. Nate Sayler or Chris Rankin

  • Clay Cole vs. Nate Sayler or Chris Rankin

Nate Sayler is one of the biggest threats here. He’s proven he can take out top-tier racers, and if he faces off against Clay Cole or Scott Taylor, he could be a serious contender for an upset. These first-round matchups will likely determine how the championship battle plays out, as early exits from any of the top contenders could shift the points standings significantly.

Final Thoughts

As we move into the next few events, Clay Cole remains the frontrunner, but Shawn Ellington, Scott Taylor, and Ryan Martin are still very much in the race. With 140 points left to be awarded, anything can happen. Drivers like Nate Sayler, Kayla Morton, and Jim Howe could also play spoiler and shake up the standings if they perform well in Steele and Texas.

Stay tuned to Street Outlaws Talks as we continue to follow the action. The No Prep Elite Championship is far from over, and we’ll be here to keep you updated every step of the way. Make sure to watch the upcoming races closely, because this season is only getting more exciting from here!
