It's been a heavy week in the racing community as we're still coming to terms with recent events. The loss we've experienced has left us all reeling, and it's clear that our thoughts are with those affected. Despite the sorrow, today's race at Cordova promises to be a testament to the resilience and spirit of our racing family.

Firstly, it's a relief to see Birdman back on track after his recent accident. The fact that his car wasn't heavily damaged speaks volumes about the dedication and safety measures our drivers uphold. As he gears up to race with the turbos again, there's anticipation in the air to see how he'll perform.

Speaking of performance, Jeff Lutz with the Mustang and Jimmy Taylor's return are sure to add excitement. Ryan Martin's switch to the gray car and the adjustment for screw blown cars also set the stage for some intense competition. The recent rule adjustments have sparked some debate, particularly regarding the 40 lbs off for screw blowers. Opinions vary, but one thing's for sure: today's races are poised to be fiercely competitive.

Jimmy Taylor's been making waves with his fast screw blow car, and despite not being in the top 16 initially, his testing results suggest he could break through. Meanwhile, Murder Nova remains a force to be reckoned with, boasting the highest winning percentage this season in NPK. His consistency speaks volumes about his skill and preparation.

Looking ahead, the weather conditions play a crucial role. While water grains are high today, tomorrow promises ideal racing conditions with excellent air quality. This variable could significantly impact race day outcomes, adding an element of unpredictability.
