If there's one driver who's been knocking on the door of a big win in No Prep Kings, it's Disco Dean Karns—and 2025 might just be his year. After a solid run in the Cadillac last season, he’s back with a brand-new Firebird that’s already making waves before the first green light even drops.

At Street Outlaws Talks, we’ve been keeping a close eye on Dean’s progress, and there’s no denying the Firebird looks like a serious contender. Purpose-built for NPK, this car is tuned and ready for the big stage. No more adapting older rides—this one’s designed from the ground up to handle the demands of No Prep Kings competition.

Last season, Disco stayed consistently in the top five for a good stretch with the Cadillac. While it wasn’t the fastest screw-blown car on the property, it was the most consistent—an important factor when you're stacking up points across an entire season. He may have lacked a little top-end compared to the rest of the field, but it looks like that’s about to change.

With the new setup, Dean can now push that screw blower to the limit—anywhere from 98% to 128% overdrive. That’s a difference of hundreds of horsepower. And when you mix that with a driver who already knows how to run consistent passes, you’ve got a dangerous combo. Add to that the fact that Dean has dropped a ton of personal weight—yes, literally—and that gives him even more flexibility with car weight and tuning.

Let’s not forget how close he came to big wins last season. Some of his races against Murder Nova were photo finishes—lost by inches. And we all know Murder Nova ended up walking away with the championship. Now, with more horsepower, a lighter car, and even more experience under his belt, Disco could finally grab that long-awaited NPK event win.

The new Firebird didn’t waste any time hitting the test track either. Dean got it out for some early passes as soon as it was done, and from what we’ve seen, it’s straight as an arrow and already posting strong numbers—even without being fully leaned on. That’s promising.

And with the new format in NPK that features no weight rules, the sky’s the limit. Dean can turn it up, stay consistent, and most importantly—be a real threat every single round. He’s also under contract for every race, so fans can count on seeing him and the Firebird at each and every event.

We’ll be watching closely here at Street Outlaws Talks, because if there’s one car to keep an eye on this season, it’s Disco Dean’s Firebird. The build looks deadly, the driver’s motivated, and the stage is set.

Could this be the year Disco finally dances his way to an NPK win? We wouldn’t bet against it.
