Pat Musi Began Racing in 1969
Pat Musi, a championship auto racer and 30-year performance specialist, was born in 1961 in North Carolina, United States. Described as “one of the most intimidating and influential doorslammer racers in the country,” Musi opened Pat Musi Performance in Carteret, NJ, in 1969 at the age of 18. That same year he started his racing career, which includes several Pro Street World Championships (including four straight from 2000-2003) and records. Now, he will continue the quest for a Pro Nitrous World Championship with the Edelbrock-sponsored “King Kong 7” Dodge Dart, which is being piloted by Lizzy Musi.

Pat Musi Joins Edelbrock Corp
Pat Musi has been hired as a product development consultant for aftermarket performance product manufacturer Edelbrock Corp. In this new role, Musi will focus on nitrous systems, as well as racing cylinder heads and high-horsepower EFI products.
His mechanical skills made some new products for Edelbrock. Most recently, he shared a post on social media in which he and Edelbrock Cylinder Head Product Manager Matt Gamble review a new set of Edelbrock DR-23 after it arrived at Musi Racing Engines.

“Pat is an expert on racing products, especially nitrous,” said President and CEO Vic Edelbrock. “His expertise and enthusiasm will translate into some very exciting new products for Edelbrock. Pat Musi, the legendary engine builder and owner of Pat Musi Racing Engines, celebrates his 50th year in business in 2020. Musi began his career running a small speed shop in Carteret, New Jersey, and quickly became of the most successful engine builders in motorsports.
“It’s exciting to see everything you’ve worked for come together,” Musi said. “We’ve proven ourselves over the years, and we’ve won a lot of championships and had a lot of success. It’s been pretty cool.”

Based in Mooresville, North Carolina, Pat Musi Racing Engines is a one-stop shop for sportsman engines with a Pro Mod pedigree. Pat Musi Racing Engines controls every component of the engine, from in-house manifolds to custom cylinder heads.
A few years back, Pat teamed up with the Professional Drag Racer’s Association to service all their car engines. At the time, his daughter was preparing for her PDRA debut. Later he moved his shop from New Jersey to North Carolina to watch Lizzy races.
In addition to his engines business, Musi works as a crew for the Frank-Brandon Pro Nitrous Dodge, whereas his daughter handles driving duties.
